Who am I?
I watched the third installment of the Kung Fu Panda trilogy again with my family last night.
Do we called it a ‘trilogy’? It seems too serious a word, to describe a seemingly frivolous cartoon with all its slapstick comedy.
But if you’ve watched it all, and absorbed it all — then you’ll know it’s one of the most deeply philosophical movie series of it’s genre and generation.
It is ‘The Matrix’ for kids. It is a timeless story for all ages, and for all ages.
The main theme running through the entire three-part narrative — is that of identity… ‘Who am I?’ — the universal question of being.
Some friends will know, that for the past 5 years, I start my day journalling; and almost every morning — I start with the question ‘Who am I?’ It is a practice that I cannot recommend any less.
The inner journey that I’ve been on, is nothing like anything I’ve ever experienced before I started asking myself that Question. And the journey continues.
This morning, after last night’s re-run, I found this clip — beautifully stringing together the narrative across all three Kung Fu Panda movies.
If you too, enjoy the trilogy, then you will love this video. And if you too, frequently ask yourself this question — Who am I? — then you’ll want to watch the series again, and again.
