This thought had me pause for quite a while… considering all the violence in the world, and in personal lives… terrorism, indiscriminate shootings, rape and multiple forms of abuse and slavery.
Who hasn’t sung an anthem — of hope, and love, and peace.
And yet many who sing of such nobility, act wretchedly.
Such. Is the power of fear.
And not just fear. But fear unspoken. Fear unacknowledged.
Perhaps the best thing we can do for ourselves — as a civilisation — is to simply admit to one another — that we’re fearful.
