Leaving Words
I write because I enjoy the intellectual exercise of forming a thought, embracing a subject — and then straining it, so that only essence remains. Pure, simple, concentrated, and usable.
I enjoy publishing because my work would have every chance to be scrutinized and critiqued. What I say, and what I claim — will have every chance to be held up against who I am, and how I act. This way, nothing remains hidden.
I refine my words, and expose them to scrutiny, so that I can myself, be refined. So that I can be, in fact, the sum of my words.
Some parents pick the finest jewelry as gifts for their children. And some parents assemble a portfolio of houses, art, and other assets. I shall leave words. Words that I piece together with my life.
