Decentra-Air: Building a ‘Web3’ Airline Company

How would we build an Airline company today? On DAOs, Blockchain Technology & First Principles.

Imagine this — an Airline ✈️ — built completely ground-up, by a DAO; and using Blockchain technology to do 6 things:

  1. Solve all the current technical, and non-technical problems that a typical airline faces today. Too many things to list here — saving it for another time.
  2. Transform the customer experience — reimagine the current frequent-flyer program construct.
  3. Create a unique economy in which crew and passengers can gift each other tokens for creating great experiences; and in doing so, build a great culture and experience of flying. Metagood, the amazing team behind OnChainMonkey, is pioneering the use of community-tokens (Bananas) to shape culture and enrich the community experience.
  4. Accelerate ongoing innovation — by attracting the best thinkers (across all fields) to the DAO, and rewarding ideas and solutions for improving all functions across the operations and marketing of an Airline business
  5. Provide ownership and access to airline crew, passengers, and community (people who contribute in many different ways) — so that when the Airline does well, the people responsible for the Airline experience and growth, are directly, immediately and proportionately compensated.
  6. Create a ‘frequent-flyer program’ that’s actually transferrable — points and even status, in its entirety.

I can imagine a whole bunch of other problems that be solved with Blockchain technology, a DAO governance structure, Web3-thinking, NFTs, tokens, etc. And this is just a starting point.

I believe this can be done. And I believe multiple industries are set to be disrupted — not “disrupted by (Blockchain / Web3) technology”, but disrupted by a new way of thinking… now that we have new tools available to us.
