2 Types of work you can do — at a Type-A Breakfast session
Some friends have asked — what kind of work do you do, at a Type-A Breakfast session?
I used to simply say — any kind of work you want — just follow the rules: Choose 8 hours of the most strategic work that you can do during the week; the list of tasks that would give you the most leverage for the rest of the week*/month.
But today, I thought I’d start a list of ideas. I hope this helps you plan for a Type-A Breakfast session.
1. Do what you’ve been procrastinating…
…. or work that you suspect you will procrastinate on.
If you’re showing up at Type-A Breakfast with the set intention to get it done, there’s a very high chance you will either complete it, or actually get a meaningful head-start in completing it.
2. Speed-reading & focused-research…
If you want to study or research a subject — to get something done — it’s likely that you’ll encounter distraction or inefficiencies.
Because we aim to do things at at least 4X the regular human speed — it’s likely we’ll rely on speed-reading and avoid all distractions.
Additional Tip: A Blank Sheet of Paper to Record Distractions.
Whatever you’re working with (notebook, paper etc.)… also have a sheet of blank paper and a pen on the side
This is to capture any thoughts that would come to mind — i.e. that call you need to make, that question just just came to mind, that thing you need to buy… just write it down to deal with it later… after you’ve completed your day’s work.
* Context — Type-A Breakfasts used to be a Monday-only thing; but now it’s on other days of the week because some organisers want to do more.)
