12 Measures for Your Life in 2016

Every year-end, I rate my year based on the following 12 measures.

Every year-end, I rate my year based on the following 12 measures.

Reflecting on 2016 & Planning for 2017

  • I start with a simple ‘0–10’ rating for each.
  • Next — I reflect on how satisfied I am with each of these areas of my life, and write a short summary in a ‘Personal Annual (2016) Report’.
  • Then, I write a plan to work on each area in the following year.

I invite you to use this list (if you find it useful) — to measure your satisfaction in the various aspects of life in 2016. And to write a plan for next year.

The 12 Measures

Except for the top 3 items, there is no particular order in this list…

  1. Health, Fitness & General Well-being
  2. Marriage / Romantic Relationship
  3. Family (Children / Parents)
  4. Social Relationships (Friends)
  5. Professional Relationships (Colleagues / Business Associates / Network)
  6. Learning / Personal Growth
  7. Spiritual (Faith-based Goals)
  8. Charity (Contribution to People, Causes Beyond Your Immediate Circle of Concern)
  9. Career / Business
  10. Personal Brand
  11. Recreation / Side-projects / Hobbies
  12. Wealth (Savings & Investments — Measured by Net Worth)
